Exhibition Statement

Welcome to “Animals in the Now” an exploration of present moment through the animals. You might find them in your own home, in your neighbour’s yard, or across the street, quietly observing you in search of your attention. As we live in a whirlwind of thoughts and distractions, our furry friends remain steadfast, fully engaged with their surroundings. When they gaze at the world, they invite us to pause, breathe, and truly connect.
These artworks depict them gazing at object, such as an apple or orange, they perceive it in its purest, true form. In contrast, we often perceive it through the lens of memory or with no attention at all.
Join us on this experience, and let each piece inspire you to embrace mindfulness. Allow yourself to fully immerse in the process of being, which can be as simple as gazing at an apple with undivided attention. Also, next time you share a moment with your pet, or encounter a dog or cat on the street, remember to meet them in the “now.” They will always be there, reminding us with their unwavering presence to cherish the simplicity and joy of simply being.
